Lynn Feldman

Events: Books By Hand

Lynn Feldman is a book-maker from Lexington, MA. Traditionally trained as an artist, she spent many years continuing what she had been taught at the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture, NYU, and FIT. Somewhere along her creative journey and after years of teaching elementary age children, calligraphy and book arts caught her artistic passion. “It was an art form I had never really considered before and seemed to fill a space inside me. Partly because I can never decide which media I prefer the most, making books allows me to incorporate almost all of my past training while doing many of the art forms I most enjoy.”

Following this path, Lynn has studied book-making and calligraphy at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and at the DeCordova Museum School and has a wealth of knowledge to share about making books.

“My current work represents the union of all that I love: color, textures, and patterns, experimenting with different media and using a variety of tools. I always include calligraphic letters and words in the design of my painted pieces and handmade books.”
