Events: Chemical Dangers and Human Health

Book: Green Intelligence: Creating Environments That Protect Human Health

John Wargo is professor of environmental policy, risk analysis, and political science at the Yale. He has been an adviser to several EPA administrators, the U.S. Congress, the U.N. World Health Organization, and Vice President Al Gore. He is the author of Our Children’s Toxic Legacy, and his most recent work has focused on children’s exposure to air pollution. Professor Wargo has also conducted extensive research on the ecological basis of park and protected area management.

We live in a world awash in man made chemicals, from the pesticides on our front lawns to the diesel exhaust in the air we breath. In Green Intelligence: Creating Environments That Protect Human Health, Professor Wargo offers sound advice on the world’s growing chemical dangers.  He explains the origins of society’s profound misunderstanding of everyday chemical hazards and offers a practical path toward a safer future through prevention, transparency, and awareness.
